Overview: Digital Environment

Infrastructure + Digital Projection Art = Public Environment

A sensory environment is produced when infrastructure and digital projective art are combined.
Projection across hanging chain-mail produces textural effects and generates sensation as one moves in and through the space. The formal technique of the digital superficial surface explores a new type of relationship between digital media and public space.

Projection
Digital Projection systems are located along the bridge’s structural modules creating a facade and ceiling system layered in architectural chain mail. This metal mesh provides a projection surface allowing light to penetrate through layers creating variable degrees of colors and shadows, increasing the visual textural effect of moving vegetation.

Environment
An environment of changing media ranging from the open field to dense forest.
Digital media cascades across many layers of chain mail causing shadows to and adding texture architectural surface. The media causes a range of environments and allows each person to journey through the spaces as the media content changes from low to high density vegetation.

MasterPlan
A continuous circulation path and journey across of digital vegetation and programmatic use. The program contains public art, activity spaces, dining, landscapes, and circulation. As one transitions through the bridge the program shifts from small scale markets and landscape to large environments of action and performance.
