ClevelandÕs Detroit-Superior Bridge has been surrounded by a diverse number of neighborhoods and concerned groups including churches, schools and political organizations. We propose that the Detroit-Superior Bridge harness these groups and become a catalyst for the community to voice their opinions and socially engage with one another. Our proposal seeks to address how people will participate and traverse through the bridge using the social landforms. Each landform engages the public through the combination of social networking and a landscape that spans across the bridge, allowing people to engage with any topic of their choosing. Our proposal hopes that through this catalyst, neighborhood and city issues can be debated in a truly open forum where people will find their voice and explore the issues that are meaningful to them. Our proposal generates spaces that involve, combine, divert, evolve and produce new social interactions and relationships through the interstitial space that our landforms provoke.
