2012: Transforming the Bridge | 12240

Overview: A flexible system is proposed for the spatially limited Detroit-Superior Bridge. This adaptable solution is a track system, informed by the history of the lower deck.
Large-scale complexity with Small-scale simplicity is achieved through a structure of modular panels on switchable tracks.

These user-defined panel configurations have the ability to enclose an infinite range of activity; such as performance, exhibition, and sporting spaces.

The bridge will now be a temporal reflection of the city. Panels will switch positions to deflect the elements, guide large events, and accentuate the seasons. In the future, the panels may seep further into Cleveland enclosing spaces where they are needed.
